The open category has two levels: first A1/A3, then optionally A2.
A1/A3 Certificate
Free online training and exam by AESA. Covers 9 subjects: EU regulations, safety, privacy, insurance, human factors, operational procedures, UAS technical requirements, Spanish regulations and geographical zones.

A2 Certificate
Proctored exam administered by AESA. Additional subjects: meteorology, UAS flight performance and technical risk mitigation on ground. Requires prior practical self-training.
